It's Been Awhile.....

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted any updates here and I figure its about time. Over the course of the last couple of years I’ve been steadily working on the shop renovation, doing outreach in my community, recovering from an injury to my shoulder that required surgery, and so many other things. The building has been a challenge but its coming along and we are looking at an April 2025 deadline for the lower portion of the building to be opened. All the electrical, plumbing, heating etc is being replaced and we are putting in the new fuse panel the middle of November. The basement has taken on a new life and is coming along nicely. I’ve added artwork in the form of a mosaic in the kitchen area. We are paying close attention to detail which is why its taken as long as it has. I have a vision for this space that is really coming together. Considering where we started the change is going to blow you away. I recently had the opportunity to travel to Frankenmuth MI to check out Bronner’s and the local shops. It was amazing. I stopped by the Woolen Mill to peruse their shop, pick up some fun fiber stuff, and saw the most incredible mural on a neighboring building that has given me such inspiration for my own building. The mural was the full length of the building, with clever use of it to camouflage antennas and other modern architectural stuff. It was dated 2022 but the colors were as vibrant as they could be and the detail was stunning. I LOVE color and recommend that you take a trip to check it out. Between the mural, the trip itself, and all the ideas I came back with this year is going to be STELLAR! I had already started painting murals on my own building but this was a whole new level of creativity and skill. My plans include placing a mural on the parking lot side of my building as well as in the corner nook leading to the front patio we installed last year. And a final mural, of course will be over the front entrance. I drew the entrance design out last year but due to my injury and surgery I couldn’t get it started. That all changes in the spring! My goal is that visitors will be inspired to be creative in their own right just as I have been.
